i think this year for lent i'm going to give up giving things up. i'm so weary of self-sacrifice, after all these years. well, you know, i've never actually paid any attention to lent in the first place, but i figure this is as good a time as any to start. besides, i've finally found something i can live without.
who knows, this just might carry on beyond lent, into a lifelong habit of self-indulgence and refusal to deprive myself of the things i want. now, there's a sacrifice i can make.
